To get an information systems security professional CISSP certification, a candidate must have a minimum of five years of paid work experience in two or more of the eight domains of the CISSP CBK. (One year can be waived with a relevant degree). If you have less than 5 years of experience, passing the exam grants you the "(ISC)² Associate" title until your experience requirements are met.
The CISSP exam is offered in a Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) format. It runs for 3 hours and contains 100 to 150 questions (multiple choice and advanced innovative items). The passing score is 700 out of 1000 points.
